Getting a Good Night's Sleep
50Insomniacs all over the world suffer from bleary, stinging eyes, poor concentration and low immune system. Such a lack of sleep is known for its detriment to the human body, not to mention one's emotions. Luckily there are several solutions available - and not involving the dreaded sleeping pill.
The first one, music has been found to help alot of people. The trick is choosing what type of music suits you best. Some may find it extremely hard to get to sleep with death metal pounding. For others, its the only way. So as not to disturb others, get a portable music device or even a stereo with an earphone jack. Nevermind if its playing all night - just make sure your batteries are fully charged. If you find earphones uncomfortable, try some earphones instead.
Secondly, you can join a gym. High impact excercise a few nights a week can really make a difference. Soon you'll find yourself dropping off each night, without even thinking of insomnia. And as a bonus, you'll lose weight and shape up =] Who can ask for more?
Next, meditate. This will help to get rid of any deep-seated stress and concerns, which is the most likely cause for insomnia. Put on some soothing music, light a few candles or incense sticks and just veg. Doing this for 10-15 minutes before you sleep will help you get a good night's rest.
If a fear or concern is the cause of your troubles and further prevent you from sleeping, seeing a psychiatrist is recommended. Hopefully with a few therapy sessions, you'll be back to sleeping normally. However, this can be quite an expensive option. Is a good night's sleep really worth it?

this is very helpfull. Thanks:)
One reason for insomnia that's often overlooked is indigestion or other "tummy troubles". Don't ask me why it is, but if your stomach is overactive (gurgling, churning or - ahem - venting gas) - then that makes your mind overactive, too. If that's a problem, it may help to avoid eating for a few hours before going to bed, and/or take an indigestion tablet or powder.
great information here. I like it. thanks for share.
Good points and you have a new fan!
